‘eVolve Media’ is an internal Alternative Provision (AP) offer delivered by Esteem Valley Academy staff from our Kirk Hallam site. The programme gives students the opportunity to gain a Rockschool (RSL) qualification in Creative Digital Media, alongside a BTEC qualification in Esports.
Our Media curriculum is exciting, broad and balanced, exploring relevant media products and experiences. Our aim is for every student to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding through the exploration of current media trends, before becoming creatively confident in the design and production process.
Students learn through creating their own media products, covering a wide range of industry-relevant technical skills including:
- 3D graphic modelling for the games and film industry
- Film and photography
- Virtual Reality (VR) design
- App development
- Video editing and special effects
Students work with industry-standard software, including Final Cut Pro, Unity and Photoshop, helping to prepare them for further study or careers within the creative industries.
Our Esports curriculum is designed to harness students’ growing interest in competitive gaming, creating a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. The curriculum provides students with a strong understanding of the Esports industry, while developing transferable skills applicable to a wide range of careers and real-life situations.
